Welcome
Our dogs are in the midst of an epidemic. It’s not an epidemic of viral disease, but of chronic ill health. They’re besieged with itchy, pus-laden, scabby skin; vomit and diarrhea are the norm. One in every hundred dogs suffers from epilepsy, and an even higher number lives with painful arthritis. Allergies are also reaching epidemic proportions: dogs are becoming allergic to life. We also seem to have a tremendous number of dogs with behavioral problems, largely due to over-vaccination and processed pet food. Vaccines are known to cause inflammation of the brain, as well as lesions throughout the brain and central nervous system. The medical term for this is ‘encephalitis’, and vaccine’s role is acknowledged in the Merck Manual. Merck is a vaccine manufacturer. http://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/why-i-dont-vaccinate-my-dogs-at-all/
Our Puppies:
We dont use chemicals around or dogs or puppies. We clean with Apple Cider Vinegar, Baking soda, Dr. Bronner's castile soap, and a variety of essentials oils. Our puppies are wormed with Diatomaceous Earth (DE). If fleas are an issue we will use a natural flea soap and DE. We start our puppies on Taste of the Wild Puppy food. I personally don’t recommend vaccinations, however, I understand that you may want to use a conventional shot schedule. Upon your request I will have our licensed veterinarian give your puppy its first shot at 7-8 weeks old at no extra cost to you. Please understand that although we don’t recommend vaccines, we will not discourage you from doing so. All our puppies will go for an exam at our vet. If you choose to vaccinate please consider doing a titter test instead of yearly vaccines. Microchips are also an option at no extra cost to you. You should look at the benifits and risks of microchips.
Below you will find information regarding our breeding program. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything.
What do the dogs eat?
Our dogs eat a raw diet which consists of:
-
Raw Eggs
-
Organ meats
-
Muscle meat
-
A verity of meats (Beef, venison, and chicken)
-
Blueberries
-
Coconut oil
-
Sweet potatoes
And I could go on and on but you get the idea.
I put the health of my dogs as a top priority. There are several things I do differently than other breeders.
Health Care:
We see a licensed veterinarian at regular intervals for exams.
Vaccinations: Due to the health risks associated with vaccinations we do not vaccinate our dogs aside from the Rabies vaccine. If you choose to vaccinate your dog I recommend you:
-
Follow a Delayed Vaccination Schedule
-
Use only "Killed" vaccinations
-
Use only Single Vaccines
-
Use Titer Tests instead of annual boosters.
-
Worms: We don’t use poisons to worm our dogs. We use food grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE). Diatomaceous Earth is a non-toxic, safe substance made up from crushed fossils of freshwater organisms and marine life. DE eliminates roundworms, pinworms, whipworms, and hookworms. We also use DE for detox. Raw pumpkin seeds are also fed as a treat. Food grade DE is also safe for humans and we use it to rid our bodies of parasites as well.
Fleas and Ticks: During flea seasons we make a homemade flea spray with Eucalyptus Essential Oil and Tea Tree Essential Oil to spray on their coat. I can count on one hand how many ticks I have found and three of them were found on our daughter. When I have found a tick I remove it and apply Lavender Oil and Coconut Oil on the bite. There are MANY other natural ways to prevent fleas and ticks. DE also kills fleas.
Immune Support: A raw diet is great for keeping dogs healthy. Our dogs get a table spoon of Coconut oil daily. Coconut oil has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties. On a needed basis I give a probiotic. One of our dogs came down with a double ear infection shortly after taking a swim in a lake on a camping trip. I started her on a probiotic and put coconut oil mixed with Lavender oil in her ears and the infection started improving in 3 days and was completely gone in a week.
